Israeli company has announced this week that it is rolling out its home-based urinary tract infection (UTI) test kit across over 280 Day Lewis pharmacies in the UK.

This is the second partnership of the kind for this year. Back in July, the Israeli company announced that the product would become available for purchase in 300 Boots pharmacies, as well as online.

The CE-approved test kit consists of a urine collection cup, a standard dipstick, a colour-board. It comes with an app that uses a smartphone’s camera to present users with their results.

It is intended to be used by women that are not pregnant, aged between 16 and 64, who do not have diabetes or a catheter, and is priced at £10 in these pharmacies.

Once purchasing the test, users will be able to go through their results with a pharmacist, and will only need to pay an additional fee of £15 if they will need to be prescribed medication.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of closing a $60m Series C funding round led by Corner Ventures, with participation from Joy Capital Ventures and previous backers Ansonia Holdings, Aleph and Samsung NEXT, in September.

A few months before that, the company secured $18m in a Series B funding round led by Aleph, with Samsung NEXT and private investors also participating.

But is not the only company in this space. In the UK, it faces competition from TestCard, whose offering is a urine test kit embedded into a postcard, which also comes with an app that is used to scan it for results. However, according to TestCard's website, the product has not yet been launched.

Commenting on the new collaboration with Day Lewis, Katherine Ward, chief commercial officer at, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Day Lewis Pharmacies and to provide more women across the UK with access to our patented, clinically proven, and time saving smartphone enabled urine testing kit which they can use from the comfort of their own homes.”
