Last week MedPilot, a patient financial engagement platform, scored $1.7 million in seed funding. The latest financing round was led by Hudson River Capital Partners, Valley Growth Ventures, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Techstars, and investor Tom Hirscheld.

Anne Wellington has been appointed as the new managing director of the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator, a 90-day, health-tech-focused program that offers mentoring and financial support to its participants. Wellington had previously served as entrepreneur-in-residence for the accelerator’s third class, and held the chief product officer position at healthcare analytics company Stanson Health.
