A free web-based decision aid that aims to help women with breast cancer make choices about their reconstruction surgery could help save money, according to a new study published in Psycho-Oncology. Over the weekend AliveCor announced that its technology was validated in two studies. The first found that its KardiaBand, which works as a personal electrocardiogram device, can accurately detect atrial fibrillation (AFib) when used with the Apple Watch. The second study, which was a collaboration with the Mayo Clinic found that its ECG device, when paired with AI, could detect hyperkalemia.

Oscar Health plans to expand the reach of its innovative, tech-savvy insurance plan into six states in 2018. Pending regulatory approval from the states, the move will include the service's return to New Jersey, where it pulled out last year, expansions in existing markets, and brand new launches in Tennessee and Ohio (via the previously announced Cleveland Clinic partnership).
