A guided weight loss program, such as Weight Watchers, may be more effective than the self-help approach, according to a study conducted by Baylor College of Medicine and sponsored by Weight Watchers. The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene released a health app last week for residents to use while cooking. The city reports 60 percent of adults and 40 percent of children are obese or overweight.
