San Diego-based GreatCall, an aging-in-place tech company that makes both phones for seniors and mPERS, has acquired Healthsense, a Minnesota-based remote monitoring company. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Medical device maker HealthSense raised $10 million in equity, debt, and securities in a round led by Mansa Capital with additional investment from existing investors Merck Global Health Innovation Fund and Radius Ventures. Another existing investor that wasn't mentioned in this round is Fallon Community Health Plan.
This brings the company's total funding to date to at least $17 million.

Minnesota-based aging in place technology company Healthsense has raised $7 million in its fourth round of funding led by new investors Merck Global Health Innovation Fund and Fallon Community Health Plan. Healthsense offers a remote monitoring platform for the senior care market called eNeighbor, a WiFi-enabled passive monitoring service that alerts care givers to emergencies like falls.
