WebMD's Apple Watch app
The Apple Watch is set to launch in just a few days. And in the past few weeks, a number of health and wellness-focused companies have announced their soon-to-launch Apple Watch apps.
At the end of March, MobiHealthNews counted at least 19 new health and fitness apps that were announced for the Apple Watch. Since then, there's been at least another 18.

Medication adherence app company MediSafe raised $6 million in a round led by Pitango Venture Capital with participation from 7wire Ventures as well as existing investors lool Ventures, TriVentures, and Eyal Gura.
This brings the company's total funding to at least $7 million to date. The company also received $2.36 million in prize money from Seven Ventures (7VPD) last month.

Haifa, Israel-based MediSafe added a birth control pill tracking feature to its medication adherence app this week.

Microsoft announced a new accelerator this week, in partnership with medical technology company Becton Dickinson (BD), that will be focused entirely on health startups. Microsoft expects this to be a one-off, health-focused class of startups and it doesn't plan to host another health-focused accelerator program again.

MediSafe, a company which has claimed to boost medication adherence up to 81 percent, has raised $1 million in first round funding. The round was co-led by lool Ventures and TriVentures. Angel investors Eyal Gura, Yadin Kaufmann and Yair Schinde also contributed to the round.
