The most visible and utilized telemedicine tools available today are mainly geared toward primary care, but there is a growing emergence of specialty and high-touch medicine delivered through telemedicine technology. Phillips received FDA clearance for an additional transducer for its Lumify ultrasound system, a small portable ultrasound that can connect to mobile devices as well as traditional PACS.
